DJ Shimza, Nadia Nakai, DJ Speedsta and Frank Casino get Neighbourgoods jumping for the Bacardi House Party: The Grave Yard Shift

The past weekend, the funk of 40 000 years and grizzly ghouls from every tomb descended on the Neighbourgoods Market in Braamfontein for the (mouthful) Barcardi House Party: The Grave Yard.

All of Braam’s coolest kids, famous faces from Desire Marea to Lulama Wolf and Moozlie got down to some Halloween fun thanks to the juice provided by never-ending shots of rum.

While we’re here, I should say that my preconceived Pirates of the Caribbean-esque ideas of rum where absolute nonsense and the stuff is really amazing. In particular, Barcadi Carta Blanca and dry lemon are a match made in Halloween heaven. You’re welcome.

Which brings me to my next point: it was so much fun, I didn’t get a chance to be the music reviewer you rely on me to be because I was just have a damn good time. I will say I didn’t spot any frowning faces and shout out to Ph Fat for dropping “Thriller” on us because seriously what kind of Halloween party would it be without it?

PatrickxxLee, DJ Lootz, Venom, Chuck Tailored and headliners, DJ Shimza, Nadia Nakai, DJ Speedsta and Frank Casino, I see you too. It was night worth remembering.

If you’re feeling even the slightest FOMO, I need to tell you two things real quick: 1. be sure to leave a note to tell me I’m amazing, and 2. mark 18 November in your diary now because Frank Casino and DJ Speedsta will be bringing it agains for another Bacardi House Party, flanked by Pxsh and Lungelo.

Check back soon for details.

Well, what do you think?
