Cassper Nyovest enlists Goapele to reimagine “Destiny” as ballad to inspire thug tears
If you were around in 2003, you will know why Cassper Nyovest’s “Destiny” means so much to so many people. The Thuto rapper’s song which sample’s the Malaika track of the same name, is slowed down from a house uptempo to a hip hop and R&B ballad. And thanks for that go to Goapele.
Cassper has been teasing the “Destiny” video for a short while and his excitement is warranted. The Kyle Lewis-directed visual captures the regret in Cassper’s verses poignantly. The futuristic video interrogates how we might understand love in the future when technology’s possibilities (did someone ask for a human clone?) will have exploded. Can technology solve the challenges of love or has it already screwed us over?
Thuto is available now everywhere and you can watch the “Destiny” video below now.
