We look back at the year that was with, this, our final installment of the 2015 FDBQ100 featuring Cassper Nyovest, Riky Rick and DJ Milkshake
The top quarter of the 2015 FDBQ100 list – as voted for by you, the fans and our readers – simultaneously took us by surprise and made us feel a nostalgic warmth as we looked back on an incredible year of music. DJ Milkshake had a massive year with his single, “My Own”. The opulent, braggadocios record features Cassper Nyovest and Anatii, both of which are featured 2nd and 3rd on the FDBQ100 respectively. Mr Mama I Made It had the biggest year of any artist, suffice to say (though your votes only managed to put him in second place) what with filling up the Dome, selling platinum with both debut and sophomore albums, mega endorsements and multiple award wins. Mr Boss Zonke released his debut, Family Values, this year and took it on a national tour which introduced an unprecedented sales model: all fans in attendance received a copy of the album. Coming off of recently scooping South African Hip Hop Awards (Cassper as well), it’s been a thrill of a year for the rapper.
It’s no surprise then that the top of 2015 FDBQ100 showcases the massive successes of the industry. With that, have a peek at the final installment of FDBQ100 featuring numbers 25 to 1.
