BREAKING: Thandiswa Mazwai Announces Beyoncé Live in South Africa 2014

The Tshwane Metro says, “Come on over, Queen Bey!”

The word around the web this morning is that R&B megastar, Beyoncé, has been sited for a headlining performance in South Africa next year.

According to News 24 and The Mirror UK, The Tshwane Metro has made a motion to get the Destiny’s Child graduate to South Africa as part of the Dinokeng Festival. The festival is set to take place in the town of Cullinan and will be similar to festivals like the Glastonbury Festival which Beyoncé headlined back in 2011.

The festival, in celebration of the country’s second decade of democracy, is said to cost in the region of R45 million, with the potential of raking in a cool £489.5 million.

While these plans stand as a work-in-progress, iconic vocalist and performer, Thandiswa Mazwai, took to Twitter to seemingly confirm the arrival of the Queen Bey in South Africa next year:

She followed with another tweet, hailing the Independent Woman for the model she provides for women around the world:

To back up her claim, Mazwai, tagged a member of the office of the Tshwane Metro to whom all questions should be directed:

We can’t say we’re not excited by the buzz that’s been generated. Be sure sure to check back soon for more details and confirmation.
